Ishbel Allan MacDonald (1903–1982) was the eldest daughter of Ramsay MacDonald, the UK's first Labour Prime Minister, and his wife Margaret. After her mother died in 1911, Ishbel took on significant family responsibilities. In 1924, when Ramsay became Prime Minister, Ishbel served as his hostess at 10 Downing Street at the young age of 20, making her the youngest person ever to fulfill that role. Her position was significant during a historic period for the Labour Party in British politics.
