İsmet Giritli (1924–2007) was a Turkish law professor, author, and influential figure in Turkish academia and politics. Born in Crimea, he became a professor of administrative law at Istanbul University in 1964. Giritli contributed to the 1961 Constitution and served on various important bodies, including the first TRT Board and representing Turkey at the UN. He held visiting professor positions at Columbia University, published extensively, and was known for his seminars on Middle Eastern politics. He passed away in 2007 after battling pancreatic cancer.
