Issachar Miron (1920-2015) was a Polish Jewish composer born Stefan Michrovsky. He emigrated to Palestine in 1939, and his family perished in the Holocaust. Miron is best known for composing 'Tzena, Tzena', a global hit and post-independence Israeli anthem. He served as a cultural officer in the Israeli Defense Forces and later as Deputy National Director of Music. He also worked in New York as a music dean and was an advocate for Soviet Jewish issues. His artistic contributions spanned various genres, including liturgical music and klezmer. He published works of poetry and received multiple awards.
