Ivan Aleksandrovich Averchenkov (January 22, 1946 – January 26, 2003) was a Soviet and Russian economic and state figure who served as the Mayor of Smolensk from 1998 to 2003. He was posthumously honored as an honorary citizen of Smolensk in 2008. Averchenkov played a significant role in local governance during his tenure and is remembered for his contributions to the city's administration.
