Iván Farkas is a former member of the National Council of Slovakia and the Nitras Self-Governing Region, representing the SMK-MKP party. He served as a parliament member from 2002 to 2006, participating in various committees, including the Committee for Public Administration and special control committees for the Intelligence Service and the National Security Office. In 2017, he unsuccessfully ran for the position of chairman of the Nitras Self-Governing Region.
