Ivan Terence Sanderson (30 January 1911 – 19 February 1973) was a Scottish-American anomalist and writer known for his contributions to cryptozoology and the popular science of biological and geographical subjects. Born in Edinburgh, he studied at Cambridge and became a U.S. citizen after World War II. He is recognized for coining the term cryptozoology in the 1940s and authored the influential book 'Abominable Snowmen...' in 1961. His interests also included extraterrestrial life and theories regarding the Bermuda Triangle, though many of his claims remain unverified.
