Edgar Iwan Dijksteel, born around 1952 in Suriname, is a former soldier and a suspect implicated in the December Murders. He served as the head of military security and was responsible for the safety of Desi Bouterse. According to union leader Fred Derby, he was one of four soldiers who initiated the murders. On November 7, 2007, the Public Prosecution Service began summoning suspects of the December murders, and Dijksteel was listed among the 25 suspects.
