Iwazō Kaneko was a Japanese politician born on February 20, 1907, and passed away on December 27, 1986. He served as the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Director-General of the Science and Technology Agency. He received the Order of the Rising Sun, 1st Class, in 1984. Kaneko was well-known as a prominent figure in the Liberal Democratic Party's fisheries faction, alongside former Prime Minister Zenko Suzuki. He was also notable for being the father of Kaneko Harujiro, the Governor of Nagasaki Prefecture.
