Jaan Aiaots, born on January 13, 1953, in Hagudi, is an Estonian agronomist and politician. He graduated from Hagudi 8-class school and Kohila High School, later earning an agronomy diploma from the Estonian Agricultural Academy in 1976. Aiaots worked as an agronomist and director at Adavere Soviet farm, served as director of Esku farm, and held leadership roles in Jõgeva county and Põltsamaa municipality, including mayor from 2003 to 2017. He was a member of the Estonian People’s Union until 2011 and joined the Social Democratic Party later that year.
