Jaap Romijn was a Dutch writer, educator, and director of the Gemeentlijk Museum Princessehof in Leeuwarden from 1964. Under his leadership, the museum was restored and expanded into a prominent center for ceramic studies. Prior to 1940, he contributed to the editorial team of the Protestant magazine Opwaartse Wegen and published under the pseudonym E. Legrand. During WWII, he produced several illegal publications and founded the literary magazine Ad Interim, which merged with 'De Gids' in 1950. He also worked as an art and music editor in Utrecht.
