William James Marshall, known as 'Boisy', was a second baseman in the American Negro leagues from 1926 to 1944. Born on August 8, 1908, in Montgomery, Alabama, he had a notable seven-season tenure with the Chicago American Giants between 1932 and 1938. Additionally, he played for the Philadelphia Stars in 1936 and the Kansas City Monarchs in 1938 before concluding his career with the Cincinnati Clowns in 1944. Marshall passed away on August 31, 1990, at the age of 82.
