John Howard David 'Jack' McGaw was a Canadian journalist and radio operator, born on May 22, 1936, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He cohosted the consumer newsmagazine Live It Up! in the early 1980s and later produced and hosted various freelance documentary programs. In the mid-1990s, he initiated a tourist information radio station on Vancouver Island and moved to Halifax in 2001 to operate CIRH-FM and similar stations across Canada. McGaw passed away due to gallbladder cancer on October 18, 2012, at the age of 76.
