Jacme Taupiac is an Occitan linguist and writer, born on February 12, 1939, in Gimat, Bèumont de Lomanha, Toulouse de Llenguadoc. He has played a significant role in the Institut d'Estudis Occitans (IEO) and contributed to the modernization of Occitan grammar based on the works of Loís Alibert. He is known for his advocacy for language normalization in the Vall d'Aran and is a well-known Esperantist. Additionally, Taupiac is a member of the linguistic council for the Congrès Permanent de la Lenga Occitana and received the Prèmi Robèrt Lafont in 2014 for his contributions.
