João Jacob Caetano, known as 'Monstro Imortal,' was an Angolan military leader and politician involved in the Angolan War of Independence and the Angolan Civil War. Born on April 4, 1941, in Dembos and died in Luanda in 1977, he reached the rank of general. He served as the Vice Commander of the General Staff of the People's Armed Forces for the Liberation of Angola and commanded the 9th Motorized Brigade. Politically, he was a member of the Central Committee of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola and a leader of the orthodox communist group Fraccionista-Nitista.
