She worked as a French and Latin history regent from 1972 to 1975, and served as a professor at the Ursulines Secondary Institute from 1975 to 1984. Ghevaert-Croquet held leadership roles as president of the Young Liberal Women of Wallonia and Brussels from 1977 to 1983, and was a member of the Walloon and Francophone Bureau of Young Liberals from 1978 to 1982.
