Jacques Alexandre was a French journalist born in Paris on February 7, 1921, who passed away in Carcassonne on September 19, 2011, at the age of 90. During World War II, he was mobilized for the Service du Travail Obligatoire and later joined the resistance in the Vercors region. In 1944, he began his career in broadcasting and was the first journalist to receive press card number 1 in 1945. Notably, he faced criticism from President Charles de Gaulle for his daily news reviews and was temporarily dismissed in 1968 due to union activities. He received the Légion d'honneur in 1984.
