Jacques Feldbau was a French Jewish mathematician born on October 22, 1914, in Strasbourg. He pursued his mathematical studies at the University of Strasbourg, graduating in 1938. Due to anti-Semitic policies, he was expelled from public service and detained by the Nazis in 1943, leading to his imprisonment in various concentration camps, including Auschwitz. Eventually, he died on April 22, 1945, in the Ganacker concentration camp, shortly before its liberation. Despite a limited number of published works, Feldbau made significant contributions to the field, particularly in fibrations.
