Born in Beirut, Lebanon, he immigrated to Israel at 17 and began a military career in 1971, working in various intelligence roles. An accomplished author and senior researcher, he has produced over 120 articles on Middle Eastern affairs and authored three books. He holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in philosophy.
