Jacques van Ypersele de Strihou (born 5 December 1936) is a prominent Belgian civil servant who served as the Principal Private Secretary to the King of the Belgians from 1983 to 2013. He has notably worked under two monarchs, Baudouin I and Albert II of Belgium. A member of the Christian Democrat party, he has familial ties to prominent figures in Belgian business. Jacques is married and has four daughters, with his daughter Nathalie involved in public relations. He is colloquially referred to as 'Van Yp' in political and media spheres.
