He serves as the Minister of Medical and Health, Family Welfare, Mother and Child Welfare in Yogi Adityanath's ministry in Uttar Pradesh. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he represents the Bansi constituency in the 17th Legislative Assembly and has been elected seven times, also serving in the 10th through 14th and 16th Legislative Assemblies of Uttar Pradesh.
