He achieved significant success in junior curling, becoming the Canadian Junior champion and winning bronze at the World Junior Curling Championships. Competing in bantam and junior levels, he won the Ontario Bantam championship and later led his junior team to victory in the Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships. After graduating from juniors, he continued curling at the University of Waterloo, leading his team to notable championship performances, including winning the CIS/CCA Championships in 2013.
