James Afolabi Popoola was an Anglican bishop in Nigeria who served as the Bishop of Osun from 2000 until his retirement in 2019. Born on November 20, 1949, in Ogun State, he received his education at Methodist Secondary Modern School, Abeokuta, and later at the University of Ibadan. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1975 and as a Priest in 1976. Throughout his ministry, Popoola has served in various locations, including Ilewo Igbele, Olokuta, Ajilete, and St. James’ Cathedral in Oke Bola, Ibadan.
