James C. Adamson is a former NASA astronaut and retired U.S. Army colonel, born on March 3, 1946. He flew in two space missions, STS-28 and STS-43, completing 263 orbits around Earth over 334 hours in space. After retiring from NASA, he worked at AlliedSignal, which later merged with Honeywell, and retired in 2001. Adamson has logged over 3000 flying hours in more than 30 different types of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
