James Donald Murray is a former American luger born on November 20, 1946, in Helena, Montana. He competed in the Luge World Championships in 1970, 1971, and 1975. He participated in three Winter Olympics: finishing 28th in Grenoble (1968) and Sapporo (1972), and improving to 26th in Innsbruck (1976). Between these competitions, he served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. After his athletic career, he worked as a ski instructor and later as a real estate agent in both Denver and Pinehurst.
