James Gemmell is a Canadian ice sledge hockey player born on April 26, 1980, in 100 Mile House, British Columbia. After losing his right leg in an automobile accident in 2004, he started playing sledge hockey in 2006 with the Surrey Eagles. Gemmell achieved significant success, winning a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2013 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships in Goyang, Korea, as well as a bronze medal during the 2014 Winter Paralympics held in Sochi, Russia.
