James Ira Middleswart (1912-1993) was an American politician from Iowa, associated with the Democratic Party. He was born in Indianola, Iowa, and graduated from Indianola High School. After studying business at Simpson College, he became a farmer. Middleswart served in the Iowa House of Representatives for multiple terms, representing Districts 27, 92, and 93 from the late 1960s to the late 1970s. He was involved in local governance as a soil district commissioner and secretary prior to his legislative career. He was married to Geraldine Denly until his death.
