James Nelson Shoolery, known as Jim Shoolery, was an American chemist born on June 25, 1925, in Worland, Wyoming. He passed away on September 24, 2015, in Half Moon Bay, California. Shoolery was a pioneer in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and led the development of the first commercial NMR spectrometer for chemical applications, known as the A-60 from Varian.
