Jamie White Oglesby, Sr. was an American politician from Georgia, born on January 2, 1929, in Elberton. He served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1964 to 1968 and was the first elected Republican Minority Leader. Oglesby was an alumnus of the University of North Georgia. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant. After the war, he operated a memorial stone business and worked as a realtor with his wife. He participated as a delegate in the 1964 and 1968 Republican National Conventions.
