Jan Abrahamse was a Dutch cartographer and editor, known for his contributions to the landscape and nature of northern Netherlands. He co-founded the Waddenvereniging and the magazine Noorderbreedte. After studying geography, he pioneered mudflat hiking in the 1950s and 1960s. Abrahamse worked at Wolters-Noordhoff and became the editor of Waddenbulletin until 2002, writing several books about the Wadden Sea region and northern Netherlands. He played a significant role in popularizing mudflat hiking and was instrumental in promoting the cultural and natural history of the area.
