Jan Christiansen, born on May 6, 1958, in Tórshavn, is a Faroese teacher and politician from the People's Party (FF). He graduated as a general teacher in 1982 and has been teaching in primary schools since then. He served on the municipal council in Tórshavn from January 1, 1985, to December 31, 2012, and was the city's mayor from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2004. Since June 2010, Christiansen has been recognized as a Knight of Dannebrog.
