Jan Cottaar was a Dutch journalist, presenter, and director of the Dutch Olympic Committee, born on March 6, 1915, in Delft. He began his career at Nieuwe Delftse Courant and became known as a cycling reporter, covering the Tour de France from 1949 to 1959. He also created the television show 'Van Onze Sportredacteur'. Cottaar was notable for his presentation of football on experimental television in 1950 and was a prominent figure in early Dutch television. He served as the director of the Dutch Olympic Committee from 1970 to 1974.
