Jan de Groot is a Dutch actor and playwright born on February 5, 1948, in Amsterdam. He trained at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem and performed with Toneelgroep Theater from 1972 to 1978, participating in works by Bertolt Brecht, Shakespeare, and more. After working in England, he played for several theater companies and focused on writing for youth theater. He authored the libretto for the musical "Alleen op de wereld" and made a guest appearance in the series Kees & Co. in 1997.
