Jan Doense is a Dutch filmmaker and festival organizer born on May 25, 1960, in Amsterdam. He served as the director of the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival until 2007, which is now known as the Imagine Film Festival. As of November 1, 2018, he has been the artistic director of the Film by the Sea festival in Vlissingen, where he has contributed significantly to the promotion of cinema and film culture in the Netherlands.
