Jan Haasbroek is a Dutch journalist, reporter, program maker, and broadcasting executive born in Amersfoort on December 17, 1943. A twin brother of Nico Haasbroek, he began his journalism career in the early 1960s, contributing to national newspapers and magazines like De Groene Amsterdammer and HP/De Tijd. Active in the Kabouter movement, he served as a city council member for the Kabouterpartij in Amsterdam from 1973 to 1974. He led VPRO radio from 1978 to 1995, after which he worked as editor-in-chief at Stad TV Rotterdam and director at the Humanistische Omroep, and authored several books.
