Jan Hališka is a Czech cellist, chamber musician, music educator, and manager, born on February 14, 1942, in Ostrava. He has performed as a soloist across Europe, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Japan, and South Korea. Hališka studied at the Janáček Conservatory and later at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU). He has taught at various institutions and served as the director of the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava from 1995 to 2004. He was also a member and soloist of the Janáček Chamber Orchestra and part of the Musici Moravienses.
