He served in British and Czechoslovak units during World War II in the Middle East and fought on the Western front with the Czechoslovak Independent Armoured Brigade. After emigrating to Sweden in 1948, he held various managerial positions globally. Upon returning to Czechoslovakia after 1989, he entered the hotel industry and was recognized for his charitable work with multiple prestigious awards.
