Jan A. Jarnicki, born May 18, 1954, in Warsaw, is a music publisher and patron of the arts. He studied mathematics at the University of Warsaw from 1972 to 1975 and computer science at the University Paris VIII from 1976 to 1978, later teaching there. In 1996, he founded the music publishing house Acte Préalable and later launched the music magazine Muzyka21 in 1999. He actively promotes young musicians, focusing on forgotten Polish music and organized a competition for recording projects that highlighted this genre.
