Jan-Ketil Smørdal is a Norwegian circus director born on May 9, 1964, in Nordfjordeid. He founded the Norwegian circus Cirkus Agora in 1989 at the age of 25. Initially, he was a circus performer specializing in slackline balancing. After Cirkus Agora went bankrupt in 2008, it was revived in 2009 as a contemporary circus without animal acts but was discontinued after that season. In 2012, Smørdal entered into an agreement with the amusement park Tusenfryd to hold performances twice daily during the summer peak season.
