He holds a doctorate in moral theology and was an active opposition activist from 1978 to 1989. He completed his studies at the Seminary in 1971 and was ordained a priest the same year. Mazur has served in various parishes and has been involved in teaching moral theology and ethics, with significant roles in Szczecin and the Medical Academy of Pomerania. He also served as a spiritual advisor to the creative community until he stepped down due to health reasons in 2008.
