Jan Krzysztof Minkiewicz (1946-2014) was a Dutch publicist and translator of Polish descent. He grew up in Vlissingen and studied political science at the University of Amsterdam. Minkiewicz lived in Poland during the 1970s and became involved with opposition movements. He co-founded the Foundation for Human Rights in Poland in 1980 and established the Dutch branch of the underground trade union NSZZ Solidarność in Amsterdam after martial law was declared in Poland in 1981, serving as its spokesperson in Western Europe until 1989.
