Jan Patočka (June 1, 1907 – March 13, 1977) was a Czech philosopher associated with the phenomenological school. He is known for his works in moral and political philosophy, as well as for his advocacy for human rights. His contributions to philosophical thought and social activism have left a significant impact in both the academic and civic realms in Czechoslovakia.
