Jan Pieter Glerum was a Dutch auctioneer and television presenter born on May 8, 1943, in Amsterdam. He studied art history but did not complete his degree. Glerum began his career at Mak van Waay in 1964, later becoming an auctioneer after learning from his mentor. He led global auctions after Sotheby's acquired the company in 1974. Glerum also hosted several television programs, including 'Eenmaal, andermaal', and published a book on antique culinary items. He was a knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau and passed away on August 16, 2013, in Amsterdam.
