Jan Sikorski is a Polish Catholic priest and theologian, born on November 12, 1935, in Kalisz, Poland. He is known for his role in resisting the Polish communist dictatorship during the 1970s and 1980s and became the successor to Jerzy Popiełuszko as the chaplain of the Solidarity movement in 1984. He served as the Chief Chaplain of the prisons in Poland from 1990 until 2001.
