Jan Steeman was a Dutch comics artist born on 23 May 1933, known for his popular comic strips including 'Roel Dijkstra,' centered on association football, and 'Noortje,' which features a bumbling teenage girl. The comic strip 'Noortje' was significant for running for over 40 years continuously, making it the longest-running Dutch comic strip by a single artist. Steeman collaborated with scriptwriter Patty Klein for 'Noortje,' and his son Lucas took over the comic after him. He passed away on 24 January 2018 due to kidney failure.
