Jan Szczepanowski was a Polish resistance member born on February 8, 1901, in Buczacz. He served in the military from 1922 to 1924 and worked in various factories, including Huta 'Florian' in Świętochłowice from 1937 to 1942. In 1940, he joined the local resistance movement, becoming a leader of a clandestine group and participating in sabotage and intelligence activities until his arrest in January 1942. He was imprisoned in concentration camps until liberation in May 1945. After the war, he returned to work at Huta 'Florian' until 1964.
