Following his education at the local atheneum, he worked to fund further studies while simultaneously attending evening classes in Aalst. He was employed as a proofreader and designer before turning to painting landscapes and portraits. In 1976, he won notable awards at the 'Kunst voor Allen' exhibition. His style evolved under the influence of Felix De Boeck until his passing in 1995.
