Jana Hrdá was a Czech Christian activist and advocate for personal assistance for people with disabilities. After becoming paralyzed in 1982 from a car accident, she fought against state authorities to retain custody of her children. Post-1990, she co-founded the Prague Organization of Wheelchair Users and worked towards establishing laws for social services in the Czech Republic. She held numerous roles in organizations focused on disabled individuals and wrote several books and publications related to personal assistance. Jana passed away in 2014 after battling colon cancer.
