Janaki Ballav Patnaik (January 3, 1927 - April 21, 2015) was an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Odisha twice, from 1980 to 1989 and from 1995 to 1999. He holds the record for being the longest-serving Chief Minister of Odisha. Additionally, he was appointed as the Governor of Assam from 2009 to 2014. Patnaik was a prominent figure in the Indian National Congress and made significant contributions to the state's politics during his tenure.
