She was a pioneer missionary, actively preaching to black communities in Africa, contributing to the establishment of LDS branches in Nigeria and Ghana. Educated at Wellesley College, she married Edwin Q. Cannon and worked in various positions, including matron of the Frankfurt Germany Temple. A member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 18 years, she was also a writer and editor on church topics before passing away in 2007.
