Janko Šopar is a Slovenian television presenter and journalist born on July 26, 1950, in Celje. He has worked at TV Slovenija since 1970, initially as a journalist in the economic department. In the 1980s, he became the head of the Celje branch and the main news presenter, receiving a Viktor award for his popularity. He reported on the Yugoslav wars in the late 1980s and later hosted the show Tednik from 2004 until his retirement in 2016, leading 566 episodes.
